Focus

The Journal of Pastoral Catechesis (JPKAT) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Touye Paapaa Catholic College in Deiyai, Diocese of Timika. This journal focuses on publishing field research results, critical literature reviews, and conceptual thinking closely related to the pastoral work of the Church, catechesis, and education. JPKAT serves as a forum for the dissemination of academic ideas for lecturers, researchers, catechists, education practitioners, and pastoral observers.

Scope

To maintain the quality and specificity of the journal, JPKAT accepts scientific articles that fall within the following scope of study:

  • Catholic Religious Education: Theoretical and practical studies on pedagogy, methodology, and innovation in religious learning.

  • Catechesis: The dynamics and development of lay catechesis, school catechesis, initiation catechesis, and parish catechesis.

  • Pastoral Theology: Theological reflections on the practice of church life and contextual pastoral ministry.

  • Liturgy: Theological, historical, and pastoral studies on worship and the sacraments of the Church.

  • Religious Phenomenology: Studies on religious experiences, socio-religious interactions, and interfaith dialogue.

  • Social and Pastoral Dynamics of the Faithful: Analysis of social, cultural, and community issues examined from a pastoral perspective and the social teachings of the Church.
