Editorial Foreword

The Journal of Pastoral Catechetics (JPKAT) Volume III No. 1 presents seven articles exploring a diverse range of studies in Catholic religious education, theology, and contextual pastoral care. The opening studies in this issue focus on the dialogue between faith and culture, as well as innovation in education. This is evident in articles comparing the Muyu tribe’s views on marriage with Church teachings, a pastoral review of beliefs regarding unnatural death (mata golo) in Mangulewa-Ngada, and research on the role of Catholic religious education in building students’ spiritual resilience. Furthermore, this issue highlights the improvement in students’ learning quality through the use of audio-visual media in classroom teaching.

In the following section, JPKAT presents biblical studies and in-depth analyses of current social issues. There is an exploration of the moral framework and principles of wisdom in the Book of Proverbs, followed by an article discussing sexuality education based on *Familiaris Consortio* as a preventive measure against sexual abuse. This edition concludes with a study on the theology of harmony to mitigate religious fanaticism. Overall, these seven articles reaffirm the journal’s commitment to promoting research rooted in faith, responsive to cultural contexts, and relevant to community life.
